Steven Brown – Chief Executive Officer
Steven has over 15 years of Senior Leadership experience in the Home and Community Care field. Including 6 years of experience as a Senior Director for Canada’s largest Private Home Care company; responsible for successfully overseeing multi- million dollar operating budgets, covering Toronto, London, and Erie St. Clair. Steven has also worked in the United Kingdom for the British Government, overseeing multiple social care programs and services. Steven is committed to innovation, continuous quality and improvement.
Andrew Crow - Chief Operating Officer
Andrew brings several years of experience in both Human Resources and Operations. For over 12 years Andrew held leadership roles in some of Canada’s largest Retirement Companies exceeding many of the key target’s year over year. This experience and knowledge made the transition to Home and Community care seamless. Andrew has created an environment of structure, accountability, forward thinking attitude , growth, and contract development to name a few. Andrew’s focus and passion is to grow Ultima Home Care and lead the way in Home and Community Care.
Melissa Leydekkers - Director of Corporate Finance
Mel has been working in Finance and Payroll for 20 years, with the last 8 years being in the healthcare industry. Mel’s experience has given her the insight on how to successfully manage a Finance department with positive outcomes. Mel has been successful in creating, implementing, and actioning operating budgets within the healthcare industry. Mel’s focus is auditing current procedures to find inefficiencies, finding the solutions, and working with the team to create new procedures.
Cathie Turner RN, BScN, MA Clinical Director
Cathie Turner RN, BScN, MA Clinical Director
Cathie has been a Registered Nurse for 30 years with the past 14 focusing on Community Health. She started her nursing career in a Michigan hospital in multiple areas of the hospital including discharge planning. She has provided her nursing skills in several countries and in remote regions of Canada. She has experience teaching in the nursing programs at UWO and Fanshawe College. Cathie is passionate about helping people remain healthy and in their home of choice.
Matthew Penaflor - Director of Operations
Matt has been working in customer service for more than 20 years in the healthcare industry in progressive roles. Including 6 years of experience in Senior Leadership roles working with some of the largest home healthcare providers. Matt’s goal is to ensure operational efficiency and client satisfaction through the analysis of operational data and reports. Matt is committed to providing exceptional customer care by nurturing a strong team, and always looking for ways to enhance quality.
Jon Jewell - Director of Community Relations
Jon is an experienced business development and operational manager with a proven track record of creating, implementing, and evaluating many innovative projects. Born in Wales, UK, Jon worked in the field of employment programming for the UK Government, specialising in programs that supported the development of work pathways for people with disabilities. More recently Jon has worked in the Not-for-Profit sector in the UK and Canada - focussed on employability programming and home and community care. Jon has a proven track record of design and innovation – finding solutions to the barriers to work experienced by disabled people, and more recently in increasing access to health care through developing services for underserved Canadian populations. As an experienced change manager, Jon has led teams through the implementation of new services and improving the key processes that support implementation. Jon is an experienced manager with hands on experience across the public, private and Not for Profit sectors. He has extensive experience in developing and delivering training as well as supporting teams through coaching and mentoring.
Crystal Bloomfield - Recruitment Manager
Crystal has been working in the health care industry for over 18 years. She has been on the administrative end of things helping to run a complex office with 3 different specialties, liaising with the hospital, other physicians and of course the public. Understanding the responsibility, accountability and very private nature of the health care industry during her 12 years in that role have prepared her for success on the recruitment side of things. Crystal is dedicated to finding the right person for each program and client we have on service. She has been instrumental in the growth that Ultima has had over the last 4 years and enjoys working with such a diverse and dynamic team that continually makes and exceeds the goals set.
Maja Krilic - Finance Manager
Maja has worked in the customer service industry for over 20 years, 9 of which have been in the Home and Community Care. Maja brings several years of experience in accounting operations. She is self-motivated and highly adept in billing and payroll administration. Maja is results oriented with a passion for working toward company’s advancement.
Robin Van Moorsel RPN - Clinical and Quality Manager
Robin Van Moorsel has been an RPN for over 30 years and spent the past 18 years working in various community home care roles. Robin joined Ultima almost 3 years ago, after working many years in both Supervisor and senior management roles within other Home Care agencies. She worked previously in both retirement and LTC settings before finding her passion in the community. Robin uses her knowledge, experience and communication skills to help support both nurses and PSW’s working in the community while they support clients with various health care needs.
William Bernabe - Director of Partnership Development
With over 9 years of experience in the customer service industry, William brings extensive expertise, particularly within the healthcare sector where he has dedicated 5 years. Throughout his career, William consistently surpassed company targets and possesses a results-driven mindset. His primary objective is to foster the growth of the operations team and ensure that Ultima delivers exceptional customer service.
